Dark Times. Bright Prospects.

“What’s done in the dark always comes to the light ”
For those with common sense, human decency and anything remotely close to… say, an 8th-grade education, America is going through dark times.
A convicted felon, insurrectionist and rapist runs the world’s number one superpower.
Grim, right? I’m sure many of you have gone through a rollercoaster of emotions trying to process the implications of this farce (Merriam-Webster fancies it a “light dramatic composition,” but this is no light matter).
Between the division, polarization, and rapid firing of Trumptards’ bullshit sponsored by your local bigotry and cognitive dissonance, it’s a lot to unpack.
But remember, light always prevails, especially in the dark. As citizens, we have a clear duty: to hold those in charge accountable and ensure their decisions align with the people’s best interests.
And however small our contribution is, it does matter.
As witnessed in chain reactions, every chemical compound (you) affects the ones it directly or indirectly interacts with (them).
There is still hope amidst this chaos. And a single, powerful fact: life is still worth living.
Good people still exist. Villages are still being built through the life-altering connections fostered by individuals who still dare to be… human.
Shine your light on the nascent dark void, whose weak and lower nature is a direct reflection of its illegitimacy.

Here’s a letter I penned to my senator this morning:
Dear Senator Ossoff,
My name is [redacted], and I reside in [redacted]. As a former U.S. Army service member, a single parent, a creative writer, and a political activist, I want to share my concerns regarding the flagrant violations of ethics and repeated attacks on our Constitution, as well as the very framework of our checks and balances, that have occurred since January 20, 2025.
The executive branch—more specifically, our current elected president—has adopted a "flood the zone" strategy, issuing executive orders at breakneck speed to prevent our institutions from properly vetting these decisions and ensuring they are founded on a viable legal basis.
Here are a few specific instances:
1.
The placement of known loyalists within the executive, judicial, and legislative branches—many of whom lack adequate qualifications or relevant experience for their positions.
2.
The reversal of 14 environment-related executive orders issued by the Biden administration. These policies protected forests, promoted environmental research, encouraged green investments in low-income areas, coordinated climate change policies across agencies, and more.
3.
The weaponization of the U.S. Armed Forces in an illegal attempt to repeal birthright citizenship and basic immigration rights.
4.
The attack on federal agencies and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives, which have never been about "preferential treatment" but rather about eliminating barriers for qualified individuals from marginalized communities.
5.
A complete disregard for public health and the scientific community. Withdrawing from the World Health Organization could have long-lasting consequences for our ability to respond to major health crises. The mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to an estimated 1.3 million deaths, is a prime example of the dangers of neglecting public health policy.
6.
The assault on reproductive rights and women's rights, which are fundamental to our constitutional values.
7.
The failure to invest in or reform the education system, despite urgent need.
8.
The deterioration of diplomatic relationships with key allies, including the European Union, the African Union, South America, and Canada.
These are verifiable actions that demonstrate the executive branch's shift toward an oppressive and ineffective regime, where the interests of a few outweigh the well-being of the whole. This destructive agenda disregards ethics, integrity, and public safety.
This is a battle worth fighting. We must refuse to sustain and enable these harmful practices and hold accountable those responsible for actions that threaten our nation's infrastructure, economy, quality of life, and standing on the global stage.
Thank you for your time and service.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
